how to use a Dovetail Jig?
so ive got everything i need, the jig the router the bits the templates...the wood..just one problem ive Never Used a dovetail jig and didnt want to make them by hand b/c ive got about 30 drawers to make, the manual that came with it was less then middle of the road and more so figure it out yourself, im going to make through/open dovetails does anyone know where i could find step by step instructions or pictures to give me some idea of what to do.thanks in advanced!
I feel your pain.
I've been a carpenter for 27 years and I recently bought a dove tail jig with less than helpful instructions.I don't even know why they bothered.
My advice would be get some scrap,lots of scrap,in order to teach yourself.
It took me about an hour to figure it out and finally make a good fit.
For all the woodworking experience I have it was extremely frustrating.
Just take your time and practice.
