Does a drill press or a mitre saw run off an ordinary 13 amp plug?
I am looking to purchase a drill press and a mitre saw for some light use, and was wondering (possibly rather stupidly!) if they run off an ordinary 13 amp plug or if they would need a specific set up power-wise?
From your question, it sounds as though you are in the UK, so the US correspondents are likely to give you incorrect or even dangerous advice.
Most DIY grade equipment sold in the UK is designed to run from a 13 Amp plug, even if the voltage is stepped down to 110V for trade use. Heavier duty equipment needs a larger power supply, but you did say you need it for light use - So drill and saw away.
