Fein Multimaster
What do you think of the Fein Multimaster advertised on TV?
I'm thinking of getting it for my projects, but at $280.00, it's pretty expensive for me - a retired lady with little income.
I really need a safe saw for cutting wood large enough for a dining room table (6' wide planks).
Do I need more than one saw for smaller projects too?
although i love mine, i don't think it is the right tool for what you seem to intend to use it for. the saw capability is more for under- cutting the door trim for putting in a new floor. i have used it in tight places or for cutting a hole in sheetrock for an outlet. a safe saw for cutting wood might be a Jig Saw, or a less Heavy Duty Circular Saw called a trim saw. a trim saw will be a little more costly than the circular, but it is smaller and lighter. i like the fein for sanding in tight areas. i've used the scraper blade and love that too. like i said before, the Saw Blade is very handy for tight spots and works great. i would say that for detail sanding though, this is the best tool for it. it allows you to get into almost any spot, so if you refinish things, get it. it won't replace an Orbital Sander, or Belt Sander though. i found it to be a very good quality tool, the best of "it's" kind on the market. and for the price, better than the Porter Cable Profile Sander. i hope this helps you decide, and good luck with your projects!!
