How do you find a WEP key on a bell router?
Im trying to set up my laptop and im using a dynex usb adapter. Its asking me for the Hex Key or WEP key. I don't know it, where do i find it?
If the router is yours, the easiest way to get on at first will be to reset the router manually (hold the reset button or unplug it for 45 seconds) This will cause the signal to become unencrypted and allow you to access your network without a security key. The next step will be to setup the security again. I dont have a Bell, so im not sure exactly the steps, but i know what the basic ones are. You will need to open internet explorer and type in 192.168.1.1 and hit enter. A screen should popup asking for a username and password. you can find the default stuff on google, or by calling the maker of the router. Then you will need to go to wireless security and enable one. I suggest WPA-PSK2 as it is the most secure commercially available encryption type right now. you will set your password there and be sure to write it down.
