Belly piercing! woo!?

I'm thirteen and a few months ago I made a deal with my Mum.
I get a good school report and I can get my belly pierced, anyway, I got a good one, and now she's saying she doesn't know! That's not fair is it! My best friends has had hers done and it's been fine so that should be enough evidence! I know that it can get infected but I want to know if...
I can use my contact lense saline salt solution to wash it
And what the clamp looks like when they pierce it!

Tell your Mum to get with the times. This is 2007 not 1842 and even if it does get infected there is a drug called penicillin that will sort it out as long as it is treated early. I am 30 years old and have had many piercings over the years. The holes do close up if you take them out and to me there is no problem with them. I wouldn't agree with you getting a tattoo but a belly piercing sounds fair enough if you made a deal to get it. Tell her you held up your part of the bargain and you have proved that you are a good kid and work hard so there should be no problem with the piercing. Surely she would prefer a good child with a hole in her belly button then a child who gets bad grades and drops out of school but has no marks on her body. Good vs bad to some people is based solely on image and it seems that this is the way your Mum thinks. I personally would rather my children did small things that they pleased so that I could inform them on the important things that they shouldn't do. If your Mum loses your respect now what happens at the time when people start passing round alcohol? Will you talk to you Mum or end up doing it and keeping it a secret. There needs to be trust between a child and their parents and if your Mum makes a deal and goes back on it then she is saying that her word means nothing. Not a clever plan.
