Would an EMP weapon damge non ferric/ non magnetic electronics?
E.g. the type of pulse from a nuclear bomb or generated electronically.
Specifically would a circuit made of tantalum (semi conducters too), be emp proof?
what an EMP does is induce a high voltage pulse in any piece of unshielded wire or any conductor. This high voltage will damage any semiconductors that are connected to that wire. So the type of material used does not matter, if it can be damaged by a high voltage spike, it will be.
You cannot make semiconductors out of tantalum, but even if you did, it wouldn't matter, they still would get damaged by a HV spike.
