Do panel drapes need to touch the ground?
We recently put up a rod on our window with a panel on each end. There is a bunch of metal behind our sheetrock and so we had to put the rod up a bit higher than we wanted. I just don't know if it looks right though. The panels are about 2-3 inches off the ground. Help!
I think that when you look at it, you think they shoud touch the floor because it is the "look" you had in mind when you bought them. There really is nothing wrong with the panels not touching the floor. Sometimes people have them stop right under the ledge. That's why they sell curtains at different lengths. It's a matter preference as to what style or look you were going for. I am sure that they are just fine. They are probably better than fine!
If it bothers you too much, you could always take a hot glue gun (if your not much of a sewing person) and tack on a fringe or some other embellishment to extend the length a bit. Even an accent panel across the bottom with something matching up top...Or there may even be room to drop the hem a bit. Just a thought.
