Piece Rivets
How can I join 2 pieces of leather together without stitching them together?
I don't want to use anything like standard grommets or rivets that go all the way thru both leather pieces.
Is there hardware than will go thru one piece and somehow grab on to the second piece?
"Rubber Cement". It's a permanent contact adhesive. It remains flexible. Use with *good* ventilation. The fumes are toxic. Use 3-step method: coat both pieces separately and allow to dry, then coat one piece again and press both together and allow to dry completely. It's available at hardware store, office supply outlets and craft stores.
There's a link below for a non-toxic variety, but I don't have personal experience with it. I *know* rubber cement will work. Some other glues will make the leather brittle and crack.
