Pipe Clamps
How is a hot tub jet attached to the pipe behind it? Screwed, glued, clamped? How do I remove a leaky one?
We're pretty sure our leak is behind a jet, but can't see how to remove it. No "parts" website shows how the jets attach, nor do DIY sites mention it. The tub is beyond warranty and this needs to be a DIY repair. Tub has cedar skirting and acrylic shell with sprayed foam insulation.
First you need to find which jet(s) are leaking. Take some food coloring in the little squeeze bottles squeeze out a little bit in front of each jet and watch the coloring. The jet that is leaking will suck the color in to it.
After you have found the problem jet(s) you will need to get to the back side of the jet and you will see that they are hard plumbed in. you will need to cut the pipe you them can unscrew the jet popping it out. Replace the jet you will have to glue in a short stub of pipe with a union on the back of the jet so you can connect the new jet to the old pipe.
